A UVC LED unit that fits under the sink and treats the water on its way to the tap, disabling bacteria and viruses with light. No chemicals, no change in taste, and no bulb to change for years. Fitted with the ION, or on the drinking line of an ARC home.
Why UV, and why LED
UVC light scrambles the DNA of bacteria, viruses and cysts as the water passes, so they cannot multiply. The maker rates it at 99.99% in a fifth of a second.
No chlorine, no taste, no smell, and the minerals your Acuario system preserves stay in. The water is treated by light alone, inside a food-grade quartz tube.
A flow sensor fires the LEDs the instant water moves and rests them when it stops. LEDs reach full strength at once, so there is no warm-up and no lamp burning all day.
A traditional UV lamp holds mercury and needs a new bulb every year or so. These LEDs are rated for 10,000 hours of light and the unit for three to five years, with nothing to replace in between.
Up to 10 litres a minute, which is what a kitchen tap draws, on 3/8 in or 1/2 in lines. It draws 15 W from a small 12 V adapter, and only while the water runs.
How it works, in four steps
From your Acuario filter to the tap, the water passes through a quartz tube 3 cm across.
The moment flow starts, the UVC LEDs light at full strength. Only light touches the water.
UVC breaks the DNA of bacteria, viruses and cysts in a fraction of a second, so they cannot reproduce.
Flow stops and the LEDs rest. That is why they last years, and why it costs almost nothing to run.

A point-of-use unit, not a whole-house system, and not a filter. It does not remove metals, chemicals or taste. That is the job of the Acuario system it sits behind, and for whole-house water the ARC does the rest.
Nothing to replace in between services. The LEDs are rated for 10,000 hours of light and the unit for three to five years. Our own team checks it on your service visits.
